CSC Global Alumni Board

Vision

CSC Global Alumni board is a formal body that connects, supports and develops our alumni so we can build our leadership character to impact the future for good.

The CSC Global Alumni enable local and international forums that bring together leaders to collaborate, share, inspire, develop and empower one another.

Executive Committee

Michael Wright

Chairman

As Founding Chairman, Michael ensures that the CSC Global Alumni is able to work for its members and community to bring alumni together from across the Commonwealth. 

Professionally, Michael is the Senior Learning and Leadership Manager on the NEOM Industrial City project. Prior to this Michael was Group Executive EHS at Lend Lease and ran his own Safety Leadership & Executive Leadership Consultancy.

John Thompson

Director - Communications

John has 30 years’ experience in media and public relation in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. This has included leadership roles at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, New South Wales Police Force and the Royal Australian Navy. John now runs his own PR firm JT Comms which has clients in Australia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

John participated in the 2016 Emerging Leaders Dialogue Asia and the 2017 CSC Leaders program. He is a founding member of the Commonwealth Association of Leadership Malaysia and a founding director of the CSC Global Alumni.

Gary Yee

Director & Secretary

Gary has been a national representative for Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) since 1997 and has the role of the Pension and Airline coordinator in British Columbia.

Gary is highly experienced in the fields of Labor Relations and Employee Pension Fund Management. Gary is a Pension Fund Trustee responsible for all facets in the administration for several Canadian Pension Funds including valuation, investments, communications, and governance for Pension Funds with AUM from $440M to $59B CAD.

Dr Ilka Dunne

Vice Chairman

Ilka is a Founding Director and Chair of the Membership Committee for CSC Global Alumni. Ilka attended the 2015 CSCLeaders programme and was instrumental in organising several London CSC alumni events and is a Board Member for AELD.

Professionally, Ilka heads the Global Leadership Development team at FirstRand Bank in South Africa, supporting all FirstRand employees across Africa, the UK and India.

Director & Company Secretary

Peter is a Founding Director of CSC Global Alumni and Chairs the IT Committee and Convenes the CSC Global Leadership Series. Peter attended the 2016  ELD Asia programme and several subsequent alumni events in London, Hong Kong, Brisbane & Sydney. 

Professionally Peter advises REITs and Private Investors on Commercial Real Estate transactions. Peter has previously been the Founder of several technology companies and a Director and Advisor to Boards of both public and private businesses in Australia, New Zealand and the UK specialising in technology, real estate and infrastructure investment.

Sarosh Batliwalla

Director & Treasurer

Sarosh has over 15 years’ experience across different operating environments in financing assets and companies, board governance, financial & risk management, leadership & people management. Sarosh possesses demonstrated an ability to adapt to new businesses in different markets and strategically assess new opportunities.

Sarosh’s commercial judgement is supplemented by enthusiasm for innovation culture, working with inter-disciplinary teams, strategy, business models, Design Thinking and building on ideas.
 

Dr Firoz Patel

Conference Committee Chair

Dr. Patel is a Purpose-Driven Leader and Social Entrepreneur who is passionate about Global Justice, Social Change and the Power of Leading Beyond Authority.
He has worked in Senior Leadership roles and has extensive international experience in the Not for Profit sector. 

Dr. Patel is the co-founder of Quantum5, a Global for-benefit company that mobilises business leaders around the UN Global Goals through SDGme, an SDG’s and ESG’s Assessment tool and enjoys working with purpose-driven companies and leaders to help join dots within sectors and build bridges across sectors.

Our CSC Global Alumni Limited Board has Non-Executive Directors from a range of Commonwealth countries in an effort to broaden the access, network, diversity and inclusion of our organisation when covering alumni and Commonwealth issues.

Alpna Khera

Director

Alpna joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is an alumni of the CSC Leaders Programme.

Since 2014 Alpna has been the CEO & Founder, A’Sara Consultants – Market Entry and management consultants for International and Indian companies. Prior to this Alpna was CEO of Serco India and held several senior roles at GE Energy and GE Transportation in India.

Shalini Kamath

Director

Shalini joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is an alumni of the CSC Leaders Programme.

Shalini Kamath is an Independent Director on the Boards of Abbott, Borosil Renewables, Johnson Controls – Hitachi and Ambit Finvest. Shalini  is the Past Chairperson for FICCI – Women on Corporate Boards Mentorship program and a former Director of HR for KPMG in India.

Director

David joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is Chairman, The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Barbados.

Professionally, David is National Coordinator of the Global Environmental Facility-Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). David sits on the National Climate Change Committee.

N. Justin Chinyanta

Director

Justin  joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is a CSC Leaders alumni.

 Justin is Chairman and CEO of Loita Capital Partners International, a pan-African investment banking firm. Justin has been involved in the financial markets of Sub-Sahara Africa for over 25 years advising on or arranging in excess of USD $3 billion in structured trade and project financing. 

Julie Overton

Director

Julie is a Founding Director of CSC Global Alumni and an alumni of the ELD Asia programme in 2016. 

Julie is a passionate environmental scientist and youth advocate who loves being outdoors. Julie currently work for the NSW Department of Education as a teacher and mentor at Georges River Environmental Education Centre (EEC), developing and delivering NESA Accredited teacher professional development courses and excursions.

Atalua Falekaono

Director

Atalua joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is a CSC alumni.

Atalua is an Employment Consultant for Workbridge contracting with the Ministry of Social Development supporting and assisting people (16 – 64 years old) with disabilities, health conditions and injury into employment.

Atalua is the Co-Founder of Inclusive Education a non-profit organisation for kids in Tonga which has received AusAid and Japanese Government funding.

Alex Amolloh

Director

Alex joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is a CSC Leaders alumni.

Alex is an experienced Insurance executive with a background as a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in the insurance industry in Kenya with Prudential, Liberty Life and CfC Life. 

A strong business development professional with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) focused in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from The University of Dallas.

Director

Samukeliso joined the CSC Global Alumni board in February 2021 and is an alumni of CSC Leaders.

Samukeliso is the founder and  executive director of Women’s Institute for Leadership Development which promotes women’s role & participation in public leadership in Zimbabwe and participates in regional and international platforms such as the US International Visitors’ Leadership Development program, AU-African Women Leaders Network & Africa Venture.
