About the Event

CSC Global Alumni in partnership with CSC UK hosted the launch of the Global Leadership Series in the United Kingdom on the 8th of September 2021. 

In the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, the CEO of bp, Bernard Looney, discussed leadership and sustainability within the context of climate, communities, energy and the environment. 

The event was hosted at Coutts London by Coutts Bank CEO and CSC UK Vice Chair, Peter Flavel and CSC UK Chair Sir Alan Parker CVO. 

One hundred and ninety-one (191) CSC alumni and thirty three (33) guests from 28 Commonwealth Countries registered to attend the private event held via video link.

bp CEO Bernard Looney discussed his leadership journey from joining bp in 1991 as a drilling engineer to now  leading a radical transformation of the company as it heads for net zero by 2050 or sooner and the substantial investments in reducing emissions to be delivered by 2023.

About the Organisers

The first CSC Global Leadership Series in the United Kingdom was organised by a small hardworking committee including CSC Global Alumni Directors Peter Laurent and John Thompson, CSC UK Secretary Peter Moore and representatives of Sir Alan Parker and Peter Flavel – Emma Thompson and Hana Mattocks respectively with the wider support of the CSC Global Alumni and CSC UK boards.
